OK, Monday Organising it is.
This week, over at Val's Quilting Studio, Val's "Sunday Organizing" theme is quilt storage. She asks us how we store our quilts.
Well, I only have one quilt. I won it in a raffle. I love it. For a while now it has been "floating" around, because my favourite place to "store" my quilt is on our spare bed, but we have moved our spare bed into a room filled with all of our storage boxes and the bed has been covered with unfolded clothes and other things that I have just moved there to get them out of the view of visitors.
Please, don't judge me.
Anyway, today's goal was to move the stuff off the bed and put the quilt on...
... relocating the storage boxes can wait for another day.
I still love this quilt, but it has faded a lot with washing, especially the gold highlights...
... imagine all of those figures wearing gold clothing, and gold scattered through out the dark square borders. It really was beautiful once.
I've had the same thing happen with a tablecloth that was highlighted in gold. Once it had faded, it lost a lot of its pizzazz. It makes me conscious not to include fabrics with gold highlights or super bright colours in things that are going to be washed regularly, because once they fade, so does their beauty.
How do you store your quilts?
